A stock count (stocktake or physical inventory count) is the process of physically counting every item held in your warehouse, store or site and matching the result to your inventory records. Calculate Capitals provides outsourced stock count services across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the UAE — trained counters, barcode scanners and ERP reconciliation, delivered after hours so your business keeps trading.
Inventory is often the largest current asset on a UAE company’s balance sheet, and small differences between system stock and physical stock add up to real losses, wrong reorders and audit qualifications. Independent, scanner-based counts give you a reliable closing stock figure and show exactly where variances come from.
| Count type | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Full year-end stock count | Every SKU counted at one cut-off date | Statutory audit, closing stock |
| Cycle count | Sections counted on a rolling schedule | Warehouses that can’t stop operations |
| Spot / blind count | Unannounced counts of selected items | Loss prevention, high-value stock |
| Wall-to-wall retail count | All stores and backrooms counted overnight | Retail and F&B chains |
Retail and fashion, FMCG and distribution, pharmacies and healthcare, F&B and restaurants, electronics and IT, automotive parts, construction materials and warehousing and 3PL operators.

Operations leads and founders on the software we built and what changed afterwards.

Operations Manager
"The entire ERP transition was seamlessly handled. They took the time to understand our workflows and made sure the system was a perfect fit for how we operate"

Marketing Director
"We were counting stock by hand across four sites. Two months after go-live, our warehouse team stopped reconciling spreadsheets entirely."

Managing Director
"They customised the CRM we already owned instead of selling us a new one. That single decision saved us a year of migration work."

Founder
"Fortnightly demos meant no surprises. We saw the app taking shape every two weeks and launched on the date they gave us in week one."
Checklists and tips for faster, more accurate stock counts and lower inventory variance.
A stock count is the physical counting of all inventory on hand at a specific time, compared with the quantities recorded in the inventory system to identify differences.
Plan the cut-off, freeze transactions, label locations, count every item (ideally by scanning), re-count differences, then reconcile the final counts with the system and adjust records.
The main types are full year-end counts, cycle counts, spot or blind counts and wall-to-wall retail counts.
Most single warehouses or stores are counted in one night or one day. Large multi-site counts are scheduled over several nights.
